9/17 & 9/18/2005 - BCCC at Yankee Doodle Weekend

What a fun weekend! It was wonderful to meet so many of you and to participate in the Annual Yankee Doodle Parade with our very own float! We had a great time and we hope you did too!

The BCCC extends a HUGE thank you to all of our Yankee Doodle volunteers for their amazing and tireless efforts in making this such a fantastic day. YOU GUYS & GALS ARE THE BEST!

Timmy's Story

Timmy is a very special kitty. He was extremely sick when he came to us and he endured extensive medical treatment on his road to recovery. Thanks to donations, we were able to provide Timmy with all the medical care he needed.

Timmy is the definition of determination, love and hope. He had a very special foster mom and now he has a loving family to call his very own. With their love and care Timmy has made a remarkable journey back to health. Timmy's album is a photographic diary of what Timmy has gone through and shows what a great fighter he is.

The Cat's Meow Chocolate Tasting - May 2005

Our First Annual Cat's Meow Chocolate Tasting Was A Hit!

An elegantly restored mill, live jazz and luscious chocolate. That was the setting for our 1st annual "Cat’s Meow Chocolate Tasting" held Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Faulkner Mills in Billerica.

Supporters of BCCC and chocolate lovers alike gathered to sample chocolate delicacies ranging from Godiva strawberry-kiwi truffles to Lindt’s macadamia chocolate while chocolate flowed throughout the
evening with a chocolate fountain and fresh fruit provided by Coco Falls of Lawrence. As if that wasn't
enough, folks could chill out with Haagen-Dazs' Belgian chocolate chocolate (yes - that's really the
name) ice cream.

Edible Arrangements sensational fruit bouquets proved to be a hit, as well as Alden Merrell’s raspberry
chocolate torte. Local chocolatier, Mrs. Nelson’s Candy Shop unique mocha chocolate melted in your
mouth, Trader Joe’s had a hit with smooth peanut butter cups and Rockport Fudgery’s creamy, melt-in-your-mouth fudge delighted all.

Panera’s caramel pecan brownie drew rave reviews while Lawrence’s elegant One Mill Restaurant outdid itself with a flourless chocolate torte. Starbucks provided insider information on their June 26th opening of the Treble Cove Plaza in Billerica.

Liquid refreshments arrived in the form of Java’s Brewin’ coffee and were enjoyed with the tantalizing
taste of chocolate-tangerine cookies provided by Dancing Deer Baking Company.

Silent auction items, generously donated by businesses and supporters, included orchestra seats to "Chicago" at the Wang Theatre, a car detail package from the new Billerica auto retailer VIP Parts, Tires and Service, handmade quilts and a Chocolate Delight Body Basket donated by True Looks Day Spa of Dracut and the North Andover Hampton Inn of weekend getaway, to name a few.

Fellow cat lover and professional photographer Michael Kuszek stole the show with his original slide
presentation of BCCC feral, foster and lucky cats who found their forever. (Visit www.michaelsphotoshop.com for a visual tour of the evening).

A good time was had by all. If your chocolate taste buds have been awakened, plan on attending next year's
Cat’s Meow Chocolate Tasting in May 2006 !
