This is the time of year when many people are using chemicals, like antifreeze, in their automobiles. Due to the increased usage of such products, this is unfortunately also the time of year when the GBHS and other Animal Welfare organizations receive phone calls about antifreeze poisoning. Automotive products such as gasoline, oil and antifreeze should be stored in areas that are inaccessible to your pets. As little as one teaspoon of antifreeze can be deadly to a cat; less than one tablespoon can be lethal to a 20-pound dog. You can help make a difference for the animals by following some simple advice given by the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center:
